First Look at 'True Blood' Season 6

[Video] First Look at 'True Blood' Season 6
John Kubicek
John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV

True Blood season 6 premieres Sunday, June 16 at 9pm on HBO, but if you can't wait two and a half months, here's your first look at what's to come.

In this new video teaser, we get 30 seconds of new footage and some ominous warnings in the voiceover. A lot of it seems focused on Eric, Sookie and company trying to escape Authority HQ after Bill became the blood-covered Vampire God. Needless to say, Bill isn't exactly someone you want to spend time with.

Other highlights from the True Blood season 6 teaser include:

-Guns pointed at Pam in Fangtasia

-Eric vowing "If the humans want war, we'll give them war"

-Alcide ripping his shirt off (because that's what Joe Manganiello does best)

-Someone saying "The tyrant is rising" and we see a brief shot of who I assume is new star Rutger Hauer as Warlow, the vampire who holds a contract for Sookie's life

-Lafayette wielding a shotgun

-Vampire God Bill doing his best Carrie impression, vowing that "They're all gonna burn" while bathed in blood

Watch it over and over again to suck out every blood-soaked morsel of True Blood season 6.

Gods and Goddesses in Greek Mythology by Michelle M. Houle

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 12:15:00 pm

A very good book on Greek mythology. Nine stories, each preceded by a short introduction and then followed by "Expert Commentaries," where it quotes the professionals' opinions on the stories. The major gods like Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Helios, Hera, Athena, Ares etc do not have their own page, But  are mentioned indirectly into others' stories. Interesting and entertaining not only for newbies of Greek mythology, but also those who think they've got it down pat.

-- These books explore myths of different cultures and expand the reader's mind with fascinating stories and useful historic background.
-- Every chapter is enhanced with a question and answer section and expert commentary by noted scholars.

Wicca Spellcraft For Men by A.J. Drew

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 11:02:00 am

This is a great book if you have boys or teens who are interested in the craft or are a guy interested in the craft. I myself bought this book for my boys. It is a very good beginners book as it deals more in mental processes than a mystical ones but all in all gives a great foundation to build on.

"Wicca Spellcraft for Men" explains the workings of Wiccan spellcraft from a male point of view with special attention to the concerns men face in their day to day life. It provides the scientific principles of spellcraft, explains the theory and practice of modern spellcraft, and includes recipes for incense, oils, and other creations.

A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 11:02:00 am

Cunningham's classic introduction to Wicca is about how to live life magically, spiritually, and wholly attuned with nature. It is a book of sense and common sense, not only about magick, but about religion and one of the most critical issues of today: how to achieve the much needed and wholesome relationship with our Earth. Cunningham presents Wicca as it is today: a gentle, Earth-oriented religion dedicated to the Goddess and God. "Wicca "also includes Scott Cunningham's own Book of Shadows and updated appendices of periodicals and occult suppliers.

A True History of Witchcraft By Allen Greenfield

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 8:27:00 am

Understanding...Not Ignorance! To arrive at some perspective on what the modern mythos called, variously, "Wicca", the "Old Religion", "Witchcraft" and "Neopaganism" is, we must firstly make a firm distinction; "witchcraft" in the popular informally defined sense may have little to do with the modern religion that goes by the same name. It has been argued by defenders of and formal apologists for modern Wicca that it is a direct lineal descendent of an ancient, indeed, prehistoric worldwide folk religion. Some proponents hedge their claims, calling Wicca a "revival" rather than a continuation of an ancient cult. Oddly enough, there never was any such cult!

The Wicca Handbook by Eileen Holland

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 6:33:00 pm

When I was first starting out as a witch this book was my bible! I used it as a reference to just about everything, I loved it and I still do and when I come across new witches just learning the craft looking for advice and looking for books to read this is always the first book I tell them to find. you can see more of Eileens books at http://eileenholland.com/

Eileen Holland. This book is both a tutorial for new witches and a reference book for experienced practitioners. Covers the many ways there are to be a witch -- as a solitary practitioner, or part of a coven following one of many traditions. Holland shares useful information for writing spells, creating rituals, and making tools, charms, and potions. She also includes an index of spells, ancient and modern, making this an all-inclusive reference manual for all skill levels.

Medusa Girls by Tera Lynn Childs

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 9:36:00 am

Grace just moved to San Francisco and is excited to start over at a new school. The change is full of fresh possibilities, but it’s also a tiny bit scary. It gets scarier when a minotaur walks in the door. And even more shocking when a girl who looks just like her shows up to fight the monster.

Gretchen is tired of monsters pulling her out into the wee hours, especially on a school night, but what can she do? Sending the minotaur back to his bleak home is just another notch on her combat belt. She never expected to run into this girl who could be her double, though.

Greer has her life pretty well put together, thank you very much. But that all tilts sideways when two girls who look eerily like her appear on her doorstep and claim they're triplets, supernatural descendants of some hideous creature from Greek myth, destined to spend their lives hunting monsters.

These three teenage descendants of Medusa, the once-beautiful gorgon maligned by myth, must reunite and embrace their fates in this unique paranormal world where monsters lurk in plain sight.

Gretchen may have known she was a descendant of Medusa long before her sisters--after all, she's spent her life fighting the monsters that escape the abyss--but that doesn't mean it will be easy to teach the other girls the ropes. Can she rely on Grace and Greer, or even trust herself to keep them safe?Greer has pressing social commitments on her plate and precious little time to train in her newfound powers. But that wretched second sight won't leave her alone, and her fabled heritage seems to be creeping into her fashionable life.

Grace has worries closer to home--like why her brother, Thane, has disappeared. He's hiding something. Could it possibly be related to the secret heritage the triplets share?

With the warring factions among the gods of Olympus coming for them, the creatures of the abyss pushing into their world, and the boys in their lives keeping secrets at every turn, the three girls must figure out where their fate will take them and how to embrace the shadows of their legacy.

The Grey Wolves Series by Quinn Loftis

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 11:50:00 am

Jaque Pierce was just an ordinary 17 year old girl getting ready to start her senior year in high school in Coldspring, Texas. When a mysterious foreign exchange student from Romania moves in across the street, Jacque and her two best friends, Sally and Jen, don't realize the last two weeks of their summer was going to get a lot more interesting. From the moment Jacque sets eyes on Fane she feels an instant connection, a pull like a moth to a flame. Little does she know that the flame she is drawn to is actually a Canis lupis, werewolf, and she just happens to be his mate; the other half of his soul. The problem is Fane is not the only wolf in Coldspring, Texas. Just as Fane and Jacque are getting to know each other, another wolf steps out to try and claim Jacque as his mate. Fane will now have to fight for the right to complete the mating bond, something that is his right by birth but is being denied him by a crazed Alpha. Will the love Fane has for Jacque be enough to give him the strength to defeat his enemy, will Jacque accept that she is Fane's mate and complete the bond between them?

With the challenge complete and the corrupt Alpha of Coldspring defeated Fane is now free to complete the mate bond with Jacque and perform the Blood Rites. Although the challenge is done, the affects are far reaching. Once it is known that Vasile, one of the strongest Alphas in the world is in America, specifically Coldspring, TX, there is one Alpha who cannot over look the significance of this. An Alpha who happens to share Jacque's DNA, but is this the one she needs to fear?

With her mom driving and her two best friends, Jen and Sally in tow, Jacque sets off for her happily ever after. She will soon realize a plan has been put in motion that will change her course and possibly tear her from Fane's grasp forever. It will take a wolf pack, her mother's love, her two best friend's unrelenting determination, her own will to survive and the undying love of her mate to bring her home. The question remains, if she fights, if she endures, who will she be, what will be left once she is back in her mates arms?

Jennifer Adams, best friend to Jacque Pierce and Sally Morgan, spicy, out spoken, a little crazy and human...or so she thought. Jen has just found out that human DNA is not the only thing that resides in her veins, she happens to share that little pesky werewolf gene, although it isn't more than just a drop. Now that she and her friends are living in Romania with Fane's pack, she is also oh so conveniently stuck with the object of her affection, the fur ball Decebel.

Drawn to each other by something they don't understand Jen finds herself frustrated by the lack of mating signs between her and said fur ball. Not only is she dealing with that not so un-frustrating problem, she now has been informed that because of that little drop of werewolf blood in her she is now required to attended a multi-pack gathering for un-mated wolves. This type of gathering hasn't taken place in over a century but with a shortage of females among the werewolf population the males are getting worried they won't ever find their true mates.

Meanwhile Decebel struggles with the emotions he is feeling towards Jen. He tries to keep his distance but there is just something about the mouthy blonde that keeps him coming back for more of her verbal abuse that he just can't seem to get enough of...go figure.

Darkness has descended on the Transylvanian Alps.
Four packs of the powerful Grey wolves – in a rare show of cooperation – had joined together here in an effort to help their pack members find true mates. Then they were betrayed by one of their own – an Alpha hell-bent on becoming the most powerful of the Canis lupis. And though the wolf's assassination attempt on the currently-reigning Romanian Alpha failed, his plans to get Decebel, the Romanian Beta, out of the picture were coming together even as his treachery was discovered. The wolf fled, leaving destruction, death, and a missing mate behind him.

Unbeknownst to the other packs, the wolf has employed a witch to finish the deadly job and help him gain another tool to increase his power. A curse of devastating proportions will cripple Decebel in a way that may dissolve his fragile bond with Jennifer. Meanwhile, injured and alone, Jen has been fighting for her life. She had come to terms with her fate, accepting that she would not share a life with Decebel, until help came in the most unexpected form...

Vasile will have to use all his resources – including Sally, the new gypsy healer of the Romanian pack – to discover a way in which to destroy the witch, lift the curse from Decebel and reunite him with the one woman who makes him whole, and solve a mystery that's been surrounding the Romanian pack for 300 years.

Though the Serbian pack has been brought to heel thanks to the downfall of their Alpha, the war is far from over.
Desdemona, a witch of unfathomable power, has escaped the wolves’ wrath, but she will not go quietly into the night. She takes refuge in a place where even the smallest sliver of light does not dare to enter. Though she had to flee, she has not given up on the treasure she wishes to acquire. Her depravity knows no bounds; she's even willing to search for the one who can assist her in opening a Veil that has not been opened in millennia – with good reason: the danger is incalculable.

Meanwhile, there are major changes rippling through the Romanian Grey wolves. Decebel has become Alpha to the Serbian pack in an effort to begin to unite the Canis lupis species. Their numbers are dwindling in the wake of the shortage of true mates and lack of offspring. The wolves are beginning to lose faith and darkness seems to be crashing in on them from all sides. But the winds of change are blowing, changes that will alter the future of not only the Canis lupis, but of another ancient race as well.
Amidst all of this, Sally is continuing to come to terms with her relationship with the playful, charming, flirty, unbelievably handsome bartender – who happens to be a member of the Romanian pack.
If all that weren’t enough, the Fates have decided to pay a little visit to Jen. It’s time to collect. She cheated the Fates of a life, her life. Now they want what they are due. The problem? It’s more than Jen is willing to pay.
Yes, the war is indeed far from over. Bargains will be struck, declarations will be made, sacrifices will be given, love will be tested, and trust will be questioned as evil makes its stand against them all.

My Interview with Leti Del Mar

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 9:33:00 am

 About Leti

When I'm not writing,I teach Biology and Algebra to teenagers.  When I'm not teaching, I'm pursuing my love of Art History, buried deep inside of a museum or I'm traveling with my husband and daughter.  The Inadvertent Thief is my first novel and I am hard at work on my second.

Words With Leti Del Mar

Leti has an amazing blog were she talks all about writing and what it is like being a writer. She gives helpful tips and tricks for writing as well as ways to self publish. Here is a one of her most resent posts about writing a chapter.

A Checklist For Chapter One

It is crucial to have an outstanding first chapter.  Without it, your reader will stop reading.  No matter how exciting your story eventually gets, if chapter one isn’t engaging enough, they will never get to the good stuff.  If you e-publish your work, then the situation is even more critical.  We all know that readers can download a sample for free.  If that sample doesn’t capture a reader’s imagination then they won’t purchase the rest of it.  Using some amazing opening scenes in film, I have compiled a checklist of essential elements for any chapter one.

Introduce the problem.  This is the problem that will drive the rest of the story and the problem your protagonist will struggle with.  Introduce it to your reader right away with an inciting incident or by altering the world of your protagonist in some important way.  Citizen Kane, arguably one of the best films ever made, opens with a wealthy old man dying.  His last word is “Rosebud”.  What does it mean?  What is it all about?  The rest of the film is devoted to finding out.  The problem and even a hint at the solution is put into the very first scene.  We know what the problem is before we even know who Kane is.  It is that important.  When you introduce a problem in chapter one, you captive your audience and compel them to keep them reading.

Start with a hook.  The hook is something intriguing that will pique the reader’s interest.  This can be an exciting event or something strange and mysterious.  A great way to hook your reader is to plunge your protagonist into some trouble immediately.  The Touch of Evil, also directed by Orson Wells, is a gritty crime drama that opens with a bomb being set,  then put in a car, then two people get in, they drive into traffic, pass our protagonist and a whole lot of other people and then explode on the Mexican-American boarder.  Just like that: excitement, intrigue, danger and even mystery right off the bat.

Establish the rules.  Let the reader know when and where your story takes place.  Better yet, immerse them into the world you have created.  The opening to Star Wars is one of the most often spoofed because it is just that memorable.  After a scrolling paragraph that tells the audience what it needs to know, we see an incredibly large ship that takes forever to cross the screen.  Right away we know this is about space and whoever is in charge, is a force to be reckoned with.  When you think about it, that’s all you need to know.

Hint at how it will end.  A well thought out chapter one will foreshadow what happens in the end.  It will hint at the climatic ending and gives your readers closure.  To make this even more fantastic, begin something exciting in chapter one and then spend the rest of the story building up to that moment.  This is expertly done in the opening scene of Mission Impossible 3 where Tom Cruise is tied to a chair and trying to convince Philip Seymour Hoffman not to kill his fiancé.  Why is he tied up?  Who is this girl he cares so much about?  Does she make it?  If you’ve never watched it, I dare you to turn this movie off after watching that scene.

And now for the granddaddy of all opening scenes…  Jaws opens with an unsuspecting shark attack.  This scene introduces the problem: the shark.  It starts with a hook: the shark attack.  It establishes the rules:  swimmers in danger of shark attacks.  It hints at how it will end:  Something is going to happen to that shark.  This opening scene made millions (including my sister) afraid to get into water.  What could be more captivating?   Want to see some more great opening scenes?  Check out The Film Stage  for more stellar examples in film.  Watch them, get inspired and remember to use this checklist when crafting an compelling first chapter.

My Interview

I got to interview the wonderful and talented Leti Del Mar Author of The Inadvertent Thief. The Inadvertent Thief is Leti's first Novel and is beautifully done! I couldn't get enough of the book myself and I can't wait for you all to read it too!

Leti Del Mar is a Author who brings the story to life and makes the words leap right up off the page. She brings Action and Romance and Danger and rolls them all into one and then throws them at you. She is a brilliant and  a express full author who makes you never want to leave the pages of her book!

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how long you've been writing?

I teach Biology and Algebra to teenagers but have a strong background in Literature and Art History. All of these components and interests came together when I dreamed up my debut novel, The Inadvertent Thief. Although I have tinkered a bit with writing short stories in the past, I have only really been writing for about 3 years.

Q: Can you please tell us a little about your book The Inadvertent Thief and what inspired you write it?

As a long time lover of Art History, I am always in museums. One day I started to really pay attention to how paintings are secured and started to wonder how I would go about stealing one. Since I’m not the sort of person to go around stealing things, I started to wonder what would make me steal a painting and soon the premiss of The Inadvertent Thief was born. It is about a security specialist who decides to steal back two paintings that she has been hired to protect.

Q: In The Inadvertent Thief Vivian learns many skills as a thief what was your favorite?

I love all the gadgets she develops and learns how to use. As a long time James Bond fan, I am always attracted to the high-tech gizmos and gadgets. The fact that she builds them herself is just icing on the cake.

Q: Do you have plans to write another book in The Inadvertent Thief Series?

I do but I am currently working on a YA Dystopian Sci-Fi. I have the the sequel to the Inadvertent Thief outlined and I think it will be ready summer or fall of 2014. The next installment involves a missing sculpture from the Italian Renaissance and the crew goes to Italy in search of it!

Q: Are any of your characters in your books based on people in your real life?

Lots of them! I just hope the people I know don’t figure that out, especially a certain ex-boyfriend...

Q: If faced with the same problems as Vivian would you be able to be a thief?

Absolutely. At every stage of the story I questioned Vivien’s motives and decided if I was comfortable with them. She is no criminal mastermind, just an intelligent woman in unusual circumstances.

Q: What made you decide to write a Romantic Suspense/Thriller novel?

The suspense/thriller aspect seemed to fit with the art theft premise and since I am an incurable romantic, I just can’t imagine writing anything without adding at least a little romance.

Q: What are you working on at the moment / next?

I am working on a YA Dystopian Sci-Fi Romance called Land of the Unaltered. It will be released this July! Here is a quick synopsis:
Rose is from the capitol and has a secret she can't get far enough from, Flynn is from Land of the Unaltered and hates everything the capital stands for; together they forge a bond and discover the shocking truth that changes everything.

Q: When you are not writing what is it you do to unwind? Any Hobbies?

I love to read to unwind. I also love to travel so I’m always planning a trip with my family. Honestly, with a toddler, I don’t get a whole lot of down time.

Q: If your own life was a subject of a book what type of fiction would it be: humor, horror, love story etc...?

Humor. I spend my working hours with teenagers and then come home to a toddler. You can’t do that without having a good sense of humor.

Q: Have you always wanted to be a writer?

No but I have alway loved to read. Then one day, not so long ago, I thought ‘I could do this’.

Q: What is your advice for aspiring writers?

Never stop learning your craft and get comfortable with the business side of being an author.

Q: Thank you so much for your interview, Leti. Would you like to tell my readers where they can find you on the web and where everyone can buy your book?

Pink Consoles Crying Child, Scolds Fighting Concertgoers at Hometown Show (Video)

Pink Grammy's 2010 Performance - P 2013Pink is a rock star, but her mothering instincts were sharp as ever as the singer stopped midsong at a show Sunday in Philadelphia because she heard the sobs of a little girl in the crowd.

The Pennsylvania native -- who is on the road with her The Truth About Love tour -- was in the middle of an acoustic performance of “Who Knew” from her 2006 album, I’m Not Dead, when she suddenly stopped.
“Is everything OK right here? Why is she crying?” she asked a woman in the crowd, referencing a young girl nearby. “Why is she upset?”
The answer -- two women were fighting in the crowd -- did not please the singer, who had referenced her own nearly 2-year-old daughter, Willow, several times throughout the night.

“You all are fighting around a little girl?” Pink chided.
The 33-year-old pop-star immediately rose to the occasion, offering the child a Rice Krispies Treat and a toy frog, one of many gifts fans brought for the singer and her daughter.
“First of all, you look beautiful,” she told the girl, who was carried to the front of the stage. “Rice Krispies Treats make everything better.”
She then offered the child some big-sisterly advice -- “cry when you’re older” -- before turning her attention to the offenders.
“Cut it out -- you are all grown-ass women,” she said.
She did manage to inject some humor into the situation before starting the song again from the top.
“My mom tried to beat up a lady at a school once, and I thought that was kind of cool,” she said. (Her mother, Judy Moore, just so happened to be in the audience that evening, and even prepared a tray of treats for her daughter to enjoy -- and share -- from the stage.)
The musician added that since becoming a mother, she was getting "soft" and therefore performed a clean version of "Perfect," saying that she felt uncomfortable using bad language with young fans in the audience.
The evening was a family affair for Pink, whose father also attended the March 17 show at the Wells Fargo Center. Also in attendance was comedian Wanda Sykes, who watched from backstage.

The Inadvertent ThiefThe Inadvertent Thief by Leti Del Mar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I totally loved it! defiantly not my usual type of read. I was a bit skeptical at first but intrigued by the storyline. Leti Del Mar tells a story that captures you and then doesn't let go, I couldn't put the story down! Vivian is an amazing character who is so determined, witty, hardheaded, but at the same time easily hurt. She blends well into the world of art and security, and when she meets Walt/Nathan the book couldn't get any better!

Vivian Flowers specializes in protecting fine art but her whole world comes crashing down when two of a set of four well known paintings Summer and Fall are stolen from one of the galleries she works for. The Gallery has hired the Savvy insurance agent Walter Johnson to help her to get the paintings back and Vivian is determined that she will get the paintings back, even if she has to steal them back herself!

Together Vivian and Walther and their team slowly piece together all the clues that lead them though one hell of a ride! Vivian is sure that it will be only a matter of time before they get the paintings back, but then one of the remaining two Winter is stolen, and Vivian is sure Spring will be next. Could it be an inside job? could one of her people be responsible? Vivian doesn't know be she is going to find out and she is going to get her paintings back!

Leti Del Mar is an amazing writer just when I thought the story was winding down something new and exciting would take its place and it would be off and going again. It did this at least 4 times! and the ending will leave you with a definite smile on your face! I couldn't get enough and I think I was up till at least 1:00am before I had to force myself to go to bed and finish the rest the next day or I would have been up all night reading it cause I just didn't want to stop!...lol

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3)Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved it! I loved everything about it and I wouldn't change a word. I found it to be really long! but I loved every minute of it! It seemed a little like Cassandra was trying to cram a little bit of everything into the final book but it was beautiful and heartbreaking and above all freaking amazing! The fight scenes were epic, and the love scenes heartwarming and sometimes heartbreaking but the end one word EPIC.

This series is one of the best ever! I loved the Mortal Instruments so when Cassandra came out with These I was soooo excited! The series is so epic that it needed some back story and now it has it.

In this book Tessa is getting ready to be married to Jem but Jem is fading fast the drug he has been taking more and more of has started to take its toll and he may not make it to him own wedding, not only that Mortmain has taken all of the medicine Jem needs in order to get well. The Institute is attacked by a new breed of demon assassin made and sent by Mortmain and they kidnap Tessa.

Jem is determined to go after her but collapses due to his illness and will vows to not stop till he returns Tessa to his parabatai's arms. With the help of some unusual new and old friends and some unusual new invention's the Shadowhunters all come to wills aid to free Tessa from Mortmain's clutches but will it be enough? and will they do it in time to save Jem's life?

Cassandra Clare is a superb writer! and that ending! wow never saw that coming!...lol...but it was truly beautiful and I loved it. Wonderful series something I will read over and over again for years to come!

Danger intensifies for the Shadowhunters as the New York Times bestselling Infernal Devices trilogy comes to a close.

If the only way to save the world was to destroy what you loved most, would you do it?

Watch Footage From Pink’s Truth About Love Tour

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 7:48:00 pm

Pink is on the road, bringing her sassy girl pop to venues across the country. She performed a medley of tunes from her 2000-released debut ‘Can’t Take Me Home’ at the L.A. stop of her The Truth About Love tour on Feb. 16. Fans were lurving it, since these were “classic” cuts we don’t often hear anymore from Alecia Moore’s catalog.
The singer performed ‘There U Go,’ ‘Most Girls’ and ‘You Make Me Sick,’ dancing her butt off in a black leather jacket, black and white print pants and sneakers with some pink and sequins incorporated into ‘em.
There’s also some pro quality footage from the sold-out opening night in Phoenix last week.
The world is looking Pink, and we like it.

The Goddess Inheritance (Goddess Test, #3)The Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! I totally loved this book! it was amazing! every book gets better and better and I can`t believe that it is now all over! I want MORE!...lol...wow what an incredible series. I can`t get over it I am speechless! the blood, sweat and tears in this book was unstoppable and even I was exhausted by the end...lol...they never really gave up and the love they had for each other was astounding and made you cry.

In this exciting conclusion to the Goddess Series Kate must face her most fierce challenges yet. She has been captured by Cronus and Calliope and locked in for the last nine months awaiting the birth of the child she was tricked into having by Calliope/Hera Goddess of Motherhood and childbirth, Not only that but Calliope plans to take her child from her and there is nothing she can do to stop it, that is until Cronus offers Kate a deal one that she is sure that will save her son but she will be for ever doomed.

The deal? Cronus will spare her child, the council of Gods and the people of the world but Kate must stay forever at his side to rein as the new Titan Queen. Kate can't bare the thought of being parted from her beloved husband of the Underworld and her new son but at the same time the fate of all she loves rests on her shoulders. whatever is she going to do now?

Aimee Carter is one of the best writers ever! I can't wait to read the new series she is working on as it sounds to be just as good as this one! Aimee is one of those writers that you just can't get enough of, she breaths life into her work and leaves you aching for more. A definite read for one and all!

Love or life.
Henry or their child.
The end of her family or the end of the world.
Kate must choose.

During nine months of captivity, Kate Winters has survived a jealous goddess, a vengeful Titan and a pregnancy she never asked for. Now the Queen of the Gods wants her unborn child, and Kate can't stop her--until Cronus offers a deal.

In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he'll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead.

With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.

Even if it costs her eternity.

City of SpiritsCity of Spirits by Eric Wilder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! I loved this BOOK! I couldn't put it down from start to finish, wow amazing! It was nice to see Wyatt get some womanly action in this book, as he is forever the ladies man he doesn't sleep around and it was nice to see him in a sort of relationship atmosphere. I loved that this book takes place in the middle of Mardi Gras as the the sights and the goings on that Eric describes makes you feel as if you are in the think of it and partying along with the characters.

In This book Wyatt Thomas Takes on a case of New Orleans most social elite Mr. Gordon Vallee. Someone is spreading nasty rumors that Mr. Vallee is a Passeblanc (half black and half white). Mr. Valle is pretty sure the person spreading the the rumor is his rival and ex-best friend Mr.Claude Sonnier. Sonnier has based his claim's on a ancient curse and the word of some 100 year old ghosts! never a dull moment in the Big Easy when Wyatt's on the case.

Meanwhile Tony and the New Orleans Police are trying to track down a wanted F.B.I escaped criminal. He is almost 7 feet tall and on the loose killing people in New Orleans, and he has already put several people in the hospital, including Tony's partner Tommy. Tony is going to bring this guy down no matter if he has to beat everyone in town for information to do it, and no one is going to stop him.

Amazing book I couldn't get enough of it! I never wanted the book to end! Eric is a master at creating a scene and making you feel like your living right in it. You can taste the food, hear the music, and feel the fear right along with the characters. Eric is a Master at what he does and I am on pins and needles to read his next Wyatt Thomas adventure!

About Eric

Born near the banks of Black Bayou in northwest Louisiana, Eric Wilder grew up  listening to his grandmothers' tales of ghosts, voodoo and political corruption.

He graduated from what is now the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a degree in geology.  He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam,  then graduated from University of Arkansas with a master's degree in geology.

Eric began his writing career following the 80s oil bust, and now lives in Edmond, Oklahoma with wife Marilyn, daughter Kate, three dogs and two cats.

My Reviews

Wow! amazing book! Eric Wilder is a a amazing writer. I Loved Primal Creatures and when Eric asked if I wanted to review this one too I was so excited! I can't get enough of Wyatt Thomas! he is great at what he does and there is no one he doesn't know! and I have a big old soft spot for Inspector Tony he is just a big ol' sweetie....lol

This book The first of the Wyatt Thomas novels centers around Murder, Voodoo, family intrigue and Lost Heritage. It all comes together in a chilling tale of torture as a serial killer threatens the Big Easy. Wyatt and Tony enlist the help of the local Voodoo Mambo Mama Mulate in order to help solve the case.

Meanwhile Wyatt is trying to help Celeste and her Father Maurice find his family. All he remembers from his life in new Orleans as a boy is his mothers funeral, a strange service and tomb in an old graveyard, a tomb with no name just x's written on the tomb. Wyatt is sure he knows what tomb it is but is it worth their lives to find out?

I couldn't get enough of this book I loved it from beginning to end! if you like murder mystery's then you will definitely like this! I don't read a lot of mystery books but I love these ones!

City of Spirits

This was a really awesome book! It isn't really what I would normally read as I am not much into P.I stories but this one caught my attention right away as well as the fantastic cover. Eric Wilder is a superb writer I felt like I was immersed inside the story and my heart pumped right along with the characters.

My favorite Characters would have to be Jean Pierre and Landry their witty banter made me laugh even when things were at their worst for the characters and they were defiantly people who I would like as friends.

the Story starts out with a P.I. named Wyatt whose pretty much down on his luck when the case of a life time falls in his lap, 50 miles South of New Orleans on Goose Island is a Monastery the home of Tracists Monks. The Monastery also doubles as a resort and spa for Actors, Writers, etc. in the Hollywood Industry. When one of these people turn up dead and torn apart P.I Wyatt Thomas is hired to find out who did it and why, only he finds a lot more then he bargains for as the local Voodoo woman tells Wyatt that he is up against a rougarou, a Cajun werewolf, and there is no way to kill one. Are the locals just a little loopy and wild animals kill the man instead? or is there really a rougarou on Goose Island? Wyatt doesn't know but with the help of his friends he is going to find out cause no one else is going to die on his watch.

This was the third book I believe that Eric has written about the P.I Wyatt Thomas and I admit now that I have read this one I am curious about the others and will have to get them as well....lol....fantastic book and a definite read for one and all!

My Interview

I had an amazing time interviewing and getting to know a bit about Eric he is an amazing writer and a amazing person. When I first contacted him about reading Primal Creatures I was a little on the fence about it but I love werewolf stories and love New Orleans/Louisiana  so it was a safe bet I would prob enjoy the book even though murder mysteries aren't much my thing

Eric sucks you into every story until you are helpless but to know what happens next, so when he asked if I wanted to review Big Easy and City of Spirits I jumped right in with both feet! I couldn't wait to read more of Wyatt thomas 's adventures.

Eric creates a world you never want to go but at the same time never want to leave, your so intrigued by what is going on you don't see the edge you are about to fall off, but then when you do you relize that while you fell you learned so many amazing new things and experienced a brave new journey and now you wouldn't trade it for anything.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how long you’ve been writing?

I grew up in Louisiana. My Aunt Carmol, a school teacher in New Orleans, introduced my brother and me to the city when I was eleven and I’ve loved it ever since. I wrote several short stories in college, then took an unexplainable twenty-year hiatus before writing my first novel.

Q: Can you please tell us a little about your book Primal Creatures and what inspired you write it?

Primal Creatures features my French Quarter sleuth Wyatt Thomas. He’s a disbarred attorney and recovering alcoholic who has trouble with relationships. His friend and sometimes business partner Mama Mulate is a voodoo mambo and Tulane University English professor. I wanted to write something about the south Louisiana wetlands where an area the size of a football field erodes into the Gulf of Mexico every day. While there’s no moral message, hidden or otherwise, in Primal Creatures, I hoped to introduce readers to the local Cajun culture, and to an area that has, quite possibly, the largest migratory bird population on earth. It’s a part of this country few people know about, yet too important to lose because of neglect.

Q: Did you always know you wanted to be a writer, and how long did it take you to get published?

I’m an avid reader and began devouring books at an early age. I probably always wanted to be a writer, but didn’t know for sure till years later. I was raised in the “oil patch” of north Louisiana and became a petroleum geologist. After my little, independent oil company went “belly up” during the 80s oil bust, I penned my first novel and realized how much I loved to write. Another twenty years passed before I became an indie author and published my first book.

Q: If faced with a rougarou what would you do?

As a scientist, I know there are all sorts of fantastical things we humans know little about. The word rougarou is as old as the original settlers to the swamps of south Louisiana. They believed in rougarous then and still do now. If I crossed paths with a rougarou, I’d run like hell. If I could get my feet moving, that is.
Q: How did you get the idea to put Tracist Monks into your story?
There really is a monastery across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans where monks host a writer’s and artist’s retreat, and also make coffins. Other than those two facts, the Tracist Monastery came from that mysterious location up in the ozone where all writers harvest their stories.

Q: if you could go back, would you change anything about your story?

I wouldn’t change anything. Before beginning a story, I try to do an outline, both on note cards and in my mind. Once I start pecking on the keyboard though, the characters come alive and their stories begin echoing in my ears. Whatever I’d originally planned usually winds up being very different. I know it sounds crazy, but I believe all stories are part of our collective consciousness. Writers just tap into this ethereal data bank, and then transfer what they hear and feel to paper.

Q: If you could be one of the characters in your book which one would you choose?

Jean Pierre, the Chalmette detective, is perhaps the wildest, most swashbuckling character I’ve ever had in a novel. Though he’s nothing like me, it would be fun and exciting to fill his shoes for a few days.

Q: What are you working on at the moment / next?

In City of Spirits, my second French Quarter mystery, Wyatt learns from an old voodoo woman that he is a “traveler.” My next book is tentatively titled Black Magic Woman. Wyatt travels back to old New Orleans, circa 1830s, during the time of big cotton, slavery, and a strong belief in voodoo. He meets the most famous voodoo woman ever, Marie Laveau herself, and she helps him solve an old mystery.

Q: How hard was it to write a book like this and what kind of tips would you pass on to make the journey easier for other writers?

Search your imagination for that story begging to be told. You have one; we all do. I promise. The rest is simple. Plant your butt in front of a keyboard and start pecking away. Keep writing and listening to your muse, and don’t stop until you have the story on paper.

Q: Thank you so much for your interview, Eric. Would you like to tell my readers where they can find you on the web and where everyone can buy your book?

Thank you, Amanda. My website is ericwilder.com. My blog is Eric's Blogspot. I’m also at facebook.com/louisianamysterywriter, and on Twitter at @wilderinok. My books are available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com, Smashwords, Apple ibooks, Kobo, and many other places on the web.
