WW4BB & MMW Presents: A Review of The Darkness Series by Stacey Marie Brown

Posted by wiccawitch4 on 8:47:00 am

Stacey Marie Brown is a lover of hot fictional bad boys and sarcastic heroines who kick butt. She also enjoys books, travel, TV shows, hiking, writing, design, and archery. Stacey swears she is part gypsy, being lucky enough to live and travel all over the world.
She grew up in Northern California, where she ran around on her family's farm, raising animals, riding horses, playing flashlight tag, and turning hay bales into cool forts. She volunteers helping animals and is eco-friendly. She feels all animals, people, and environment should be treated kindly.

Book 1

Freak. Witch. Crazy. Schizo. Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her. When the latest school explosion lands her in a facility for troubled teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is—leading her down a path she never imagined possible. Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could.

DARKNESS OF LIGHT is a Mature

My Review

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

This book was incredible! I couldn't put it down! I was right there with the characters every second and I felt like my life was in the balance time and time again along with them.

Stacey is an amazing author! She has a wicked imagination and incredible way of twisting her characters up into to knots and telling them to find their way back. It leaves for one hell of a bumping and intriguing ride!

I couldn't get enough of the book and I can't wait to see what comes next! You never know who the real bad guys were and you didn't know who you could trust. Defiantly not a book to miss!

“I'm having a difficult time coming up with words other than, "Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness!" right now. I feel like I'm sixteen again and just discovered the paranormal genre for the first time. Ugh.” ~ Christy at Captivated Reading

“”This plot is amazing, and it will slowly blow your mind! This is one of those books that you will not be able to let go, give up, or put down. I am completely obsessed and I will be reading every book until it's the end! I LOVED IT! You will too! 5 PAWS!!!!!” ~ Maghon at Happy Tailes and Tales.

“Amazing kick off to this series. Beautifully written, Darkness of Light draws you in right from the start, and Stacey doesn’t give you everything up front. She stretches it out, she makes you wonder, she makes you think, and she makes you love these characters.” ~ Heather form Not Everyone’s Mama

Book 2

Fire In The Darkness, Book #2 in the Darkness Series Paranormal Romance It's been four weeks since Ember Brycin witnessed what her powers are capable of. The Electrical Current Storm has turned Seattle, Washington into a natural disaster zone. The death toll is in the thousands with countless others homeless and hungry. And Ember is the one who caused it. Something she will have to live with every day. Those people who were unable to escape either turned quickly into gangs or live in shelters. Ember, on the other hand, can’t do either. With a price on her head and a Dark Dweller on her ass, she is constantly on the move. Both Light and Dark are hunting her for their own purpose to use her as a weapon or a pawn in the war between the Unseelie King of the Dark and the Seelie Queen of the Light. Em needs help but doesn’t know who to trust: Lars, the mystery man Torin told her to find? Torin, the Seelie Queen’s personal knight, who has sworn to keep Em safe? Or Eli, who wants to turn her over to the Unseelie King, but whom she has an undeniable, intense connection with?
No matter what she chooses she will probably lose—her life or everything and everyone she loves.

Fire in the Darkness by Stacey Marie Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Amazing and incredible story! What an smashing writer Stacey is! I find myself transfixed on her world from the moment I read the first page and I never want to leave.

I sooo love the way Eli and Ember fight with each other you can so tell how much they don't want to love each other but they do. Every time she try's to trust someone else it goes horribly wrong, obviously they are so meant for each other.

I love how the evilness is everywhere in Stacey's story's and you don't know where it will come from next! Who's going to a bad guy turned good or a good guy turned bad, or who's just still in the grey it's like a guessing game throughout. I totally love it!

I can't wait to read more! As this series so rocks!

“This series just blows my mind. You guys all remember how much I LOVED Darkness of Light, and Fire in the Darkness delivered just as much as the first book. I could not put it down. It kept me guessing right up until the end, and I think I actually gasped out loud a few times while reading.” ~ Michelle at Book Briefs

“Fire in the Darkness was everything I hoped the story would be and more! The sexual tension between Eli and Ember is just as scorching as in the first book but their relationship is definitely changing as they face more challenges. Even though I would have been content to keep the entire focus on the two of them, the introduction of several other characters was a welcomed change and ultimately prevented the story from becoming dull. It’s not necessary but I still suggest reading the first book in the series for no other reason than to spend more time with Eli.” ~ Dark Faerie Tales

“I'm dying waiting for the next book! Dying!! DO you hear me!!! I so totes loved this. It's a fast pace, mind screwing, sucking you in and you don't want to find your way out type of book. You need to read it. Believe me you WILL NOT be let down. I am so obsessed I am pretty sure I need EOA ( Eli
Obsessed Anonymous) or DSA (Darkness Series Anonymous).” ~ Book Boyfriend Reviews

Book 2.5

Meant to be read after Fire In The Darkness Beast In The Darkness (An Elighan Dragen Novelette) We know the story from Ember's POV, but what happens to Eli after Ember disappears? Crawl inside Eli's mind and experience what he goes through. “Thank you Stacey Marie Brown for this book... it was wonderful to see the story from Eli's point of view. I was racy and raw and very Eli!! I really enjoyed reading this book. This series has been wonderful. I am about half way
through the fourth in the series. I love the story and quite honestly, I don't want it to end. But it has been an awesome adventure!!” ~ lisakttn

“Getting to see the other side of the story was awesome! I LOVE Eli!!” ~ Kelli
“This series keeps you on the edge of your seat. I love the twists and turns to the storyline. Engaging, entertaining, and fun to read.” ~ Wendy Thrope

Book 3

Some days feel like years, but in Ember Brycin’s case just the opposite is true. Em would be 22 now—if she were human. She’s not. She is a Dae—part Demon and part Fay—with a little Dark Dweller thrown in to make her more of a freak. Life has become further complicated for Ember since returning from the Otherworld. Besides being continuously hunted by the Seelie Queen, Ember is at the top of the Unseelie King’s list, after breaking her oath with him.

No one breaks a vow with the Unseelie King without extreme consequences. Adding to Ember’s problems is a certain Dark Dweller whose mood has become violent and cruel. As much as she’d like to deny it, there is an undeniable connection between them. Eli is sexy, gorgeous, and frustrating as hell. She also knows he is holding something back, something that could change their relationship forever. But her problems go way past him. As the tension for war mounts between the Seelie and Unseelie (Light and Dark), the tension at the Dark Dweller’s compound escalates even more as they prepare to obtain the Sword of Light—the only weapon able to kill the Queen. But is Ember the answer to the location of the sword? Is she the one to fulfill the prophecy? As usual nothing is ever what it seems.

Dwellers of Darkness by Stacey Marie Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

WOW! Amazing and incredible! This series gets better and better! I never want it to end! Stacey is a genius writer and magnificent storyteller! I can't put the books down! She is an absolute marvel to read!

The bad guys go to whole new lengths in this new chapter of Stacey's tale and the adventure gets more hairy as everyone must come together to defeat them. However we all now that is easier said then done right? I couldn't believe how everything turns out and I can't wait to see what happens next!

I love how Eli and Ember's relationship is progressing. I really like Eli and I think he and Ember are good for each other, and I love how they fight! I really like how there relationship has brought everyone together as well before they would never have thought of working together and now for the sake of Ember and Eli they make it work.

Stacey rocks and I can't wait to read more of her work! If this series is any indication the rest will be just as awesome!

“This series continues to be one of my absolute favorites and I'm so glad to have discovered this story and especially this amazing author. The writing is fantastic and flows perfectly, I'm in love. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a character driven, emotional story that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time!” ~ Brittany at Biblio Belles Book Blog

“Oh my goodness! After reading what Ember goes through this book…well…if it was any other favorite heroine, I would want to say I wanted to put her in my pocket to keep her safe. Nah, not Ember. She’s one tough chick and
although she’s close to reaching the breaking point so many times, she’s strong enough to survive it. She has gone through so much, and although I want her to find some peace and happily ever after, I know she can handle the darkness that’s still to come.” ~ Lori Palle at Ebook Escapes

“If you haven't read this series you are missing out. This is a MUST READ for anyone who loves misbehaving, tattooed biker boys with strong hearts and backs, able and willing to carry the world for the ones they love. Anyone who enjoys strong, confident but shaking-on-the-inside women who know what needs to be done and do it the best way they can, trying to save and protect the ones they love with no thought about protecting themselves. And especially for those who know that family is not just blood but also those you are willing to shed tears for; that love has no fear when it comes to shielding and defending those who matter most.” ~ Heather Hand

Book 4

After months of searching, Ember and her friends have finally located the Sword of Light, the only weapon capable of destroying Queen Aneira and ending her rule. This is Ember’s destiny. Or so she thought. Now a pact to save the man she loves changes everything. In this final installment in the Darkness Series, when the truth comes to light, Ember will learn some things are better left in the dark as her world is ripped even further apart. It is no longer a rabbit hole, but a never-ending black void full of endless lies, betrayals, and secrets. The fight for Earth has begun, and Ember will have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save millions of innocent lives and those she loves. But this price may be too high—even for her.

I didn’t want this series to end, but can tell you that I’m looking forward to her next adventure that she will take all of us on. It will be a wild and exceptional ride that I’m all saddled up for. “I jumped into this series full force and grew to love the characters more every step of the way. The passion between Eli and Ember really was something not from this earth. It was the kind of love people only dream to find. Throughout this series it was almost like I could reach out and touch the characters. I really felt like I was standing right beside Ember this whole time. Stacy kept me on the edge of my seat, and there were many moments where I'd find myself laughing out loud or whipping tears from my face.” ~ Diana
